Frozen Yoghurt With Coca Cola Syrup and Salty Chips

It’s time to experiment! Most people like frozen yoghurt, cola and chips. But together? Let’s find out if this can be something.

Serving: Approx 0,5 l
Estimated time to prepare: 90 minutes (more if you are freezing it in your freezer)
Difficulty: 2

Ingredients:

420 g TINE Yoghurt Naturell
3 dl Coca Cola
4 tsp Granulated Sugar
1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
1 Potato
Salt
Oil for frying

Preparation:

We start with the potatoes. They need some time for prepping before we can fry them. Peel and slice them thinly. A cheese grater is a great tool for this. Now, THE most important thing before frying; getting rid of the starch.

Put the slices in ice cold water and let them rest for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off and add new water. Repeat a few times, and dry them. If you fail or skip this step, you will never get crispy chips.

In a saucepan or similar, add 2 dl Coke and heat up. This will take some time, so just let it reduce while you are cooking the rest.

Reducing Cola to Syrup

Mix TINE Yoghurt Naturell or a different natural yoghurt with 8 tbs Coke and 4 tsp sugar. In addition, squeeze and add 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice. I have an Ice Cream Machine, and used that for cooling down the yoghurt. If you don’t  have one, you can put it in the freezer and stir every 20 minutes, until you have the right texture.

Time to fry some chips, and make sure they are dry before we begin. Heat up oil to approx 150 degrees C. Fry them for 3-4 minutes, and let them rest a few minutes to get the oil off. Crank up the heat to 180 degrees C. Fry them again, to get some color and crisp to them. Let them dry on a clean paper towel etc. When they have cooled, season with salt.

When the Coca Cola has reduced to a sirup, remove from the heat and let it cool. Find a suitable glass, coat it with the sirup, poor in the frozen yoghurt. Garnish with homemade potato chips and pour over more sirup.
