Matua Pinot Noir 2012

I know the week has just started, but nevertheless it’s time to review a new wine. I have already told you that I like to try out the not-so-famous countries and regions, and this wine is no exception. Matua is from Marlborough in New Zealand. Yep, I’ve had good experiences with wines from both Australia and New Zealand before, so I have no trouble trying out a new one.

So, over to what matters the most, how does the wine smell and taste? Its 100% Pinot Noir grapes do what they are best at, being fruity. The wine has a light red color, which reminds me of strawberries and the taste does exactly the same. Yummy! You can smell a bit of spice among the strawberries, but most of all it’s a pleasent scent of red berries surrounding you.

So, what about the taste? Being young and fruity, you don’t have to wait long before you can feel the berries and that hint of spices. Its end is a bit warm, but most of all refreshing. This makes the wine perfect for just relaxing with a glass or together with spicy food. Matua Pinot Noir 2012 reminds me of summer, I can’t wait. That said, winter is over and my BBQ is waiting to get some fresh air in a few weeks. 🙂
