Gratinated Hot Dogs

I’ll be the first to admit that hot dogs is not the most appealing or interesting food. It is usually something people eat when they are in a hurry, often at a gas station. I know a hot dog can be a lot more than just a filler for your stomach in busy times. I will show you what you can do with something as simple as a hot dog. Hope you like it!

PS: The list of ingredients is quite long, you don’t have to use everything. Choose what you like the best. 🙂

Ingredients:

4 of your favorite Sausages
4 Hot Dog Buns
100g Bacon
150g Potatoes
1 Tomato
0,5 dl Milk
2 tbs Butter
70g Cheese
Ketchup
Mustard
Chives
Jalapeno
Rosemary
Salt
Pepper

Preparation:

Peel the potatoes. Bring water to a boil and cook the potatoes until tender. Mash them with butter and use milk to get the texture right. Season with salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.

Wrap bacon around the sausages. Heat some butter in a roasting pan and fry them quick to get some color on the bacon. Gently open the buns and use a knife to spread some ketchup and mustard on the inside. Put the sausage in the bun, top with the mashed potatoes and cheese.

Chop a tomato, sprinkle with salt, olive oil and rosemary. Put them on top together with jalapenos. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with chives when they are done and enjoy your gratinated hot dogs.
